PMIRGC Books and Beyond Forum

For March we continue our discussion with

Sections 1 & 2

of the book

Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari

In Sapiens, Professor Yuval Noah Harari spans the whole of human history, from the very first humans to walk the earth to the radical—and sometimes devastating—breakthroughs of the cognitive, agricultural, and scientific revolutions. Drawing on insights from biology, anthropology, paleontology, and economics, and incorporating full-color illustrations throughout the text, Harari explores how the currents of history have shaped our human societies, the animals and plants around us, and even our personalities.

A few thoughts for our discussion:

  • Was the material relevant to Project Management?
  • Did you find any impact to communication and leadership styles, as project managers?
  • Were there outcomes that are relevant to your current organization or life?

We welcome your view points and discussion!

Reading the book is not a requirement for your attendance.  We hope you can come to enjoy the conversation and share your thoughts!

You can find the selected book of the month at your favorite outlet (paper, digital, audio, library, purchase, borrow).

The discussions are lead by a discussion moderator.
