Presentation Title: “How Is the Sausage Made?”
Ever wonder what theory looks like in action? Do models of project management work? This presentation will take common project management theory and walk through actual case studies of project management implementation in Heading Home, a local nonprofit that works to permanently house people experiencing homelessness. CEO Dennis Plummer will discuss the realities, pitfalls and successes of managing three major projects: the multi-agency collaboration known as Albuquerque Heading Home, a behavioral health outreach and a year-round, 24-hour, all-purpose shelter.
- Will know at least three warning indicators that a project may become derailed.
- Will understand how project management can be used to build organizational capacity.
- Will deepen knowledge of the gap between knowing and doing, and learn ways to bridge that gap.
