Speaker Bio:   Nels Hoenig is a software quality Architect with PNM.  Has been with them for the past eight years.  In addition to experience as a project manager and QA resource, his passion has become data analytics and root cause analysis.  Nels is a published author on subjects including: Project Management, Software Quality, Performance Testing and Data Analytics.  Nels is also the founder of the Big Data Peer Group with NMTC

Presentation Title:   Be a Data Detective not a Data Analyst

 Data Analytics is being transformed to a more dynamic business focused role as the availability of data increases and the need to respond quickly to changes in our systems increases.  Analytics is moving to be an agent of change by first understanding the current state and then gaining an awareness of the factors creating the current state and finally by working to find and implement changes to make improvements to outcomes.

  1. Learn how the role of Data Analyst is changing from a report writer to a knowledge SME
